Google Search Console integration

Learn more about how the SEO software Visual SEO Studio, integrates with GSC

Visual SEO Studio uses Google Search Console APIs to extend its reporting functions.

The most prominent usage is the integration with "Search Analytics", which permits adding Clicks, Impressions, CTR and Position data for crawled pages.

Search Analytics columns can be added to the Tabular View (used also to display all Custom Filters results):

How to use the "Search Analytics" integration

It works post-crawl. You first need to crawl your site. You can also inspect a previously crawled site loading the crawl session from the local database.

Once you visualize your crawl data with the "Tabular View" - the whole or the result of a filtering - or launch "Data Extraction" or "Readability Analysis", the main grid has an additional option available in the context menu (you can access from the upper left corner, where the gear symbol is):

Clicking on it you'll be presented the following configuration window:

Search Analytics settings

to let you select all Search Analytics filtering options as you are used in the Google Search Console.
Notice you can filter over more query terms here; it's particularly useful for example to filter out branded keywords from your analysis.

If you didn't do it already, the first time you'll be asked to grant Visual SEO Studio permission to access your Google Search Console data:

Window to insert Google Search Console authorization code

Clicking on the "Get Google Authorization Code" link a default browser window will open with the Google authentication page.

Follow the instructions explained in the page How to authorize access to GSC data.

The authorization uses Google OAuth2 safe protocol to grant the piece of software a renewable access token, so the program will never need to know nor see your Google credentials.

Note:
"Search Analytics integration" is available only in the Professional Edition. You can evaluate it for free for 15 days by registering the Trial version.
